We acknowledge that we are standing on the Indigenous lands of Turtle Island, the ancestral name for what now is called North America. These lands (colonized as Austin, Texas) are the ancestral homelands of the Plains Tribes, including the Lipan Apache, Comanche, Tonkawa, Alabama-Coushatta, Caddo, Carrizo/Comecrudo, Coahuiltecan, Kickapoo, and Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo. We recognize all the American Indian and Indigenous Peoples and communities who have been or have become a part of these lands and territories in Texas.

Moreover, we acknowledge that systematic elimination and forced expulsion of the Indigenous Peoples of Central Texas enabled the society of today to develop on these lands. Weird Warrior Yoga Group now resides within this society, on these taken lands, at the divestiture and suffering of Indigenous Peoples and the land itself. We do our best to pay respect to the people of these tribes past, present and future.
